Our Story

Back in the year 1980, Korea imported most of the hoses from Japan. This market structure was becoming a
burden leaving the Korean consumers with no choice but to pay higher prices for the hoses. CEO Bang
strived to change the biased market and wished Korean consumers to buy hose products at more affordable
prices. After a rigorous endeavor, he successfully localized hose products and start supplying to many
leading corporations in Korea, such as LG Electronics.

Since then, Hanmi Flexible constantly researched and developed not only hoses but also the products that
are beneficial to people’s daily lives such as humidifiers, washing machines, and Juicers.

When the London Convention and London Protocol(2013), an international treaty that bans all food waste
dumping into marine environment, was implemented in Korea which quickly led to a major food waste
issues. According to the waste statistics in many countries, food waste accounts for about 30-35% of the
total wastes. In fact, all countries are spending immense money in processing these food wastes every
year(800 billion to 1 trillion KRW in Korea).

The devastation of the global environment caused by food wastes came to CEO Bang’s attention with great
shock. With aspiration to pass on a better environment to future generations, Hanmi Flexible began
developing a product that will help our environment. After six long years of constant R&D efforts, we were
finally able to launch our first generation of food recycler Reencle in the market. Fortunately, many Korean
consumers also showed great interests in the environmental protection and Reencle recorded sales of 3,000
units in 2019, 6,000 units in 2020, and over 40,000 units in 2021.
